Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency – review deadline extend to June 1:

April 4th, 2018 — Ottawa — The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is extending the deadline to June 1, 2018 to submit public comments to help shape the development of two regulations to support the government’s proposed Impact Assessment Act:

The Regulations Designating Physical Activities, also known as the Project List, would be used to determine whether projects would be subject to the proposed Act.

The Information Requirements and Time Management Regulations would set out the information that a project proponent is required to provide at the beginning of an impact assessment, the documents the Agency is required to provide to guide the impact assessment process, and the circumstances in which the Minister could pause the legislated timelines during the impact assessment process.

These regulations are part of the better rules the government is bringing forward to protect our environment and build a stronger economy.   Canadians are encouraged to visit to consult the discussion papers outlining the proposed regulatory approaches and share their views in writing before the new deadline of June 1, 2018.
